The Wall projects est une structure d’accompagnement destinée aux artistes visuels (vivants et estates) ainsi qu’aux diffuseurs (centres d’art, galeries, éditeurs) proposant des services de production, développement et édition. Une variété de services sur-mesure qui s’adaptent aux besoins de chacun car chaque projet est différent.

Si, dans un premier temps, The Wall Projects se présente comme un soutien logistique fournissant une variété d’outils au service de la création, son ambition à long terme est de développer sa propre ligne éditoriale, autour d’évènements et de publications, de manière à projeter, promouvoir et diffuser sa vision du paysage artistique contemporain.

The Wall Projects aims to support and accompany visual artists (living and estates) as well as art organizations (art centers, galleries, publishers…) offering a variety of services from art production to art development and publishing, all tailor-made in order to suit the needs of each project.
If at first The Wall Projects appears as a logistic tool offering a wide variety of services to support all aspects of visual creation, its long term ambition is to develop its own editorial brand and organize events and publications in order to « project » onto the world, a vision of art that matters to us.

LE NOM
Tout a commencé par un mur dans mon appartement qui a vite été recouvert d’images, de notes, d’idées… la construction d’un projet, d’une envie que j’avais besoin de matérialiser, de visualiser. En commençant à parler de ce projet autour de moi, « The Wall » est devenu comme un nom de code, avant de savoir exactement comment nommer cet ovni. 

Quant à Projects ? Chaque mission est différente de la suivante, l’activité de « The Wall » sera définie par les projets qui y sont développés. Si les projets existent en partie grâce à The Wall, The Wall n’existe que par les projets qu’il soutient. Mais « Projects » c’est aussi un verbe, une action : celle de projeter, à travers son activité, une vision de l’art sur le monde qui nous entoure.

THE NAME
It all began on a wall in my apartment that was soon enough covered with images, notes, ideas… In order to build a project, a dream, I needed to materialize it, picture it. When I started to talk about this project around me, « The Wall » became some sort of code name before I knew how to call it.  

As to Projects ? Each mission if different from the next, The Wall’s activity is entirely defined by the projects it supports but its aim is also to « project » its vision of art onto the world.

Camille Morin est une directrice artistique spécialisée dans le secteur des industries culturelles et créatives.
Diplômée de Penninghen en 2008, Elle participe au Watermill Center Summer Program de Bob  Wilson à deux reprises, en 2007 et 2008. Cette expérience initiatique lui permet de rencontrer des artistes qui l’influenceront grandement (Marina Abramovic, Lucinda Childs…).

Elle débute sa carrière professionnelle en tant que graphiste freelance et travaille pour différentes compagnies de théâtre et de danse puis devient chargée de production, communication et diffusion pour la Cie Hervé-Gil. Elle collabore également avec des galeries, notamment Dorothy’s gallery / American Center for the Arts pour laquelle elle développe un cycle de lectures et de performances.

En 2011 elle rejoint la Cie Or Not To Be et crée un projet à dramaturgie plurielle intitulé « Un Jour, St-Tropez », ce qui l’amènera par la suite à collaborer avec la Ville de Saint-Tropez pour la création et la coordination d’un événement, « De Mono à ‘Kini » qui aura lieu au Cinéma la Renaissance.

Elle commence à travailler à la Galerie Christophe Gaillard en 2013 où elle remplit différentes missions, de la communication à la production d’expositions, de la gestion d’artistes à la médiation du public et des collectionneurs, à la galerie et sur des foires. La Galerie déménage en 2015 dans ses nouveaux locaux et Camille devient associée.

En 2019, Camille quitte la Galerie Christophe Gaillard pour créer The Wall Projects, une structure d’accompagnement destinée aux artistes visuels (vivants et estates) ainsi qu’aux diffuseurs (centres d’art, galeries, éditeurs) proposant des services de production, développement et édition.

Camille Morin is a Paris based art director specialized in creative and cultural industries.
She graduated from Esag Penninghen in 2008. In 2007 and 2008, she participated in Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center Summer Program. This initiatory experience allowed her to meet artists that would greatly influence her (Marina Abramovic, Lucinda Childs...).

She started her professional life working as a freelance graphic designer for various performing arts companies and became a communication and production manager for the dance company Cie Hervé-Gil in 2009. She would also collaborate with art galleries, amongst others dorothy’s gallery / American Center for the Arts for which she also worked as gallery manager and developed a cycle of lectures and performances.

In 2011 she joined the Cie Or Not To Be to create and direct a multimedia play entitled « Un Jour, St-Tropez ». This project led her to collaborate with the City of Saint-Tropez where she created and coordinated the event "de Mono... à Kini".

In 2013 she started working at Galerie Christophe Gaillard and held many different hats — as is often the case in very small teams : from communication to exhibition production, from artist liaison to networking with the public and collectors, at the gallery and on art fairs. The gallery moved to its new location in October 2015 and Camille became a partner.

In 2019, she left Galerie Christophe Gaillard to start her own company : The Wall Projects, that aims to support and accompany visual artists and art organizations offering a variety of services from art production to art development and publishing.

J’ai eu la chance d’être, pendant plus de cinq ans, « artist liaison » à la Galerie Christophe Gaillard. Il s’agissait pour moi d’être à l’écoute de mes artistes, comprendre ce dont ils avaient besoin, leur apporter mon soutien, mes encouragements, un œil extérieur quand c’était nécessaire et bien entendu les accompagner dans les différentes démarches qu’ils devaient effectuer (de l’inventaire de leurs œuvres à la création de dossiers pour des demandes de subvention).

Voilà comment je conçois ce service aujourd’hui, un travail d’équipe, une réelle collaboration pour accompagner l’artiste tout en le déchargeant des tâches qui le distraient de sa pratique.

Ce service s’inscrit dans une certaine durée et s’adapte en fonction des besoins de chaque artiste ou estate mais voilà un éventail de son champ d’action :

• Catalogue raisonné / création - mise à jour d’un inventaire
• Recherche de financement, élaboration de dossiers pour des demandes de subventions
• Développement de projets, réflexion stratégique
• Mise à disposition de toutes mes compétences (graphisme, traduction, production, régie etc…) au service de l’artiste.

I had the great opportunity while working at Galerie Christophe Gaillard to be an « artist liaison » for over five years. To me it was all about listening and exchanging with my artists, understanding their needs, being there to support and cheer them, being the outside eye when needed and of course accompanying them with all various tasks they needed done — from inventory to grant applications.

This is how I envision this service today : a teamwork, a true collaboration to support the artist while releasing them of any tasks that might distract them from their practice.

This service is of course tailor-made to the needs of each artist / estate and should be on a rather long-term or regular basis, here’s a sample of what it entails :

• Catalogue raisonné / creation or update of an inventory database
• Search for financing / grant applications
• Project development, strategic planning
• Provision of my various skills (graphic design / layout, translation, production etc…) in service of the artist.

Missions plus ponctuelles et spécifiques, elles s’adressent autant aux créateurs qu’aux diffuseurs :

• Production d’expositions (rétro-planning, logistique, coordination avec les différents prestataires)
• Production / Restauration d’œuvres (rétro-planning, logistique, coordination avec les différents prestataires)
• Création de scénographies (pour une exposition, un stand de foire etc..)
• Evénementiel (conception / organisation pour une soirée spéciale ou rendez-vous récurrent)

Graphiste de formation, j’ai une vraie passion pour l’édition, de la conception d’un livre à son exécution mais j’inclus dans cette section tous supports de communication. Cela va de la conception globale d’un ouvrage (conception visuelle, réalisation et direction de publication - Michel Journiac, Le corps travesti, Édition Galerie Christophe Gaillard, 2018 ; Paris, le 13 novembre 2015 — Du Jour au lendemain, Édition 13onze15 / The Wall Projects), à la création de booklets de présentation pour une foire ou un catalogue d’exposition, aux outils de communication classiques d’une galerie (flyers, communiqués de presse etc..)

As a graphic designer, I have a true passion for publishing, from the concept of a book to its execution, but I will include in this section all communication materials.
